"Lefty's Prairie Dog Stew"
12 - Average Size Prairie Dog Breasts (skinned and halved)
1 - cup butter melted
1/4 - cup water
2 - lbs bacon, finely chopped
6 - large onions, diced
2 - large tomatoes
8 - large cloves Garlic
1/4 tsp Tumeric
1 tsp Paprika
2 tsp Capsicum
Dash Season All
Ground Black Pepper
(Salt and pepper to taste)
One jug of Canadian Club (a 1.75 liter will do)
DIRECTIONS:
1. Heat oil in deep pan over fire. Cook onions, garlic, butter, and bacon until soft and translucent. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
2. Have a "pull" from the jug!
3. Add paprika and stir thoroughly.
4. Have another "pull" from the jug!
5. Add prairie dogs halves to mixture and coat and marinade the mixture while you prepare the tomato and capsicum. Make sure your reserve the juice from the tomato's to add to the dish.
6. Have a pull from the jug!
7. Stir in tomato and capsicum and return to the campfire. Allow to cook for a few minutes before covering with lid.
8. Have another "pull" and make a toast! "To Harry Truman! To Margaret Truman! To err is Truman!"
9. After 15 minutes, add water and salt. Stir and simmer for at least an hour.
10. Have a "final pull" and use the jug fur target practice (Make damn sure it's empty!)
11. Serve and enjoy!
